Photo Printers

It's almost incredible how affordable photo printers are now days. Not only are they affordable but they're of great quality as well. If you print the photos out on solid photo paper there is almost no difference between the photos you print out and photos you pay you local photo shop to print out for you.

There is a catch why photo printers are as affordable as they're. The companies are making money on the inkjet tanks and the photo paper you need for your photos. When buying a photo printer you need to take into consideration the resolution of images it can print and how many ink tanks it uses. Take a look at our photo printer reviews for some great printers.

Resolution

Photo resolution is measured in dots per inch also referred to as DPI. The more dots per inch the better detail the photo printer can print out. When buying a photo printer I recommend you buy a photo printer of minimum 2400 x 1200 DPI although you can find photo printers with a better resolution as well.

Ink Tanks

Photo printers are obviously optimized for printing photos and usually use six colors for printing. Having individual ink tanks for each color is a wise move as you can run out of black but have enough of the other five colors. If you have individual ink tanks you can only refill the black tank instead of if you have a tank for all the colors where you would need to replace the entire tank and the other colors would go to waste.

Photo Paper

There is a great selection of photo papers available on the market. A photo printer will usually work best with paper from the same manufacturer as your printer. Take a look at various photo paper available for buying and reviews by users like yourself.
